I read the article on Teen's profane tweet about starting a new job gets her fired before the 1st day (http://www.cbc.ca/newsblogs/yourcommunity/2015/02/teens-profane-tweet-about-starting-a-new-job-gets-her-fired-before-the-1st-day.html)
I was very surprised by the reaction every one had and how pretty much everyone all over the world knows about it. I thought people would be like rude to her and shoot her down for saying stuff like that but she i pretty much famous and people are laughing about it and pretty much congratulating her.
Yes because more people know about and you know about it a lot quicker and you can always look it up in real life people tend to forget mistakes after awhile but online they never go away.
"how pretty much everyone all over the world knows about it" Not sure you should be surprised. Social media is internet based and the internet is world wide. Also, as you know it is very easy to forward or retweet info. I think in some ways social media is a broadcast medium (with a lot of amplification potential) rather than a face to face level communication.
ReplyDelete"in real life people tend to forget mistakes after awhile but online they never go away" That is SO correct. That is also why it is a good idea to intentionally place positive info about yourself on the net.
ReplyDeleteGood thoughts and good work.
